By Molly Keyzer
I am from carpeted floors and loud fire alarms
From warm wool blankets and colourful plastic cups
I am from happy hellos and nodding of heads,
Hockey puck slapshots like heavy rain against my window
I am from small libraries and tall yellow slides
I am from playdough snakes and princess dress up
From Barkmans and Kellns
I am from uncontrollable laughter and harmless wrestling
From end of school ice creams
I’m from useless conversations with no end in sight
And tall snow mountains built by us four
I am from taco salad and farmer sausage,
debates over eggnog and oreos on Christmas Eve
From family camping trips to new adventures
I’m from a happy home with happy memories
that will carry on throughout my lifetime
