On a clear December day
A snowflake falls
Alone and exposed
It drifts to the ground
Aware of its fate
It falls with the grace of a dancer
The expected comes
And the snowflake melts
Gone as if it were never there…
But wait
Look to the skies!
Shield your eyes!
There sails a curtain of radiance
Roaming across a pale grey sky
Hundreds of thousands of snowflakes
They have come to sing winter is here!
Get out your gloves, hats, scarves, and mitts
Skates, skis, and sleds
The time for sunbathing and lemonade has passed
Now it’s time for snowmen, snow angels, and snowball fights
Oh, what a wonder winter is!
Hot chocolate, apple fritters, and Christmas cookies!
It is time for snow It’s time for fun
Winter has come!
